TrIcK or TrEaT

The Peterson Boys scored a ton of candy this Halloween! Friday they did Trick or Treat on Main street in American Fork and they did it again in Spanish Fork on Saturday! Saturday evening they finished their festivities with trunk or treating at the church and went home to count their loot! Despite the terrible weather and at times a lot of rain the boys really enjoyed the festivities this weekend. Drake loved Halloween (finally!) and was very polite making sure he thanked every one for the candy. Phoenix loved the food and was covered in chocolate from ear to ear by the end of the day!

Phoenix's trip to the Hospital

Phoenix had a little accident on Wednesday and ended up having a breathe holding fit and going into a seizure. This is something that he does quite often (his momma used to do it when she was little) unfortunately the seizure was too much for his little body and he didn't begin breathing afterward. Tiffy called 911 and ran outside and the neighbor had a man working on their gutters who saw what was happening and rushed over and performed CPR. The paramedics arrived and Phoenix was breathing, but they were having a hard time getting him to respond and he was continuing to have seizure like activity so they took him to the hospital in the ambulance. About a block from the Payson hospital the little man took a deep breathe and screamed "MaMa" and just started bawling. Once in the ER and he was able to see his momma he calmed down a bit and they were able to do what they needed to do to ensure he was going to be okay. As soon as they got his IV in and his blood drawn he was in his momma's arms and fast asleep, exhausted from his seizure. 15 minutes after arriving Uncle Neil came and gave Phoenix a priesthood blessing and said he would be alright. After 3 hours of being monitored in the hospital the ER doctor was getting ready to send us home when the pediatrition came and said that we were going to have to spend the night. They had done an ex-ray to make sure that he had not had any damage to ribs when the CPR was administered and they found that he had a bit of fluid in his lungs and were concerned that it was developing into pneumonia. Momma stayed with him at the hospital while Daddy made sure that Drake was okay at home. Phoenix did not enjoy his stay and gave the nurses a run for their money. He was constantly pulling off the monitors and tugging at his IV. At one point he decided he didn't like the hospital gown and crawled right out of it. He did however love the hospital crib and banged on the bars as much as he could when he was playing in it. Through the night he was having some complications where his heart rate would jump really high and his oxygen would drop low while he was sleeping so they became a little concerned about that. In the morning the Doctor ordered some more tests to be done because he said that he had heard a heart murmur. The Doctor was correct, but it is in a place that is not harmful and as Phoenix ages it will close up on it's own. The Doctor wants to have him go for an EEG test this week to make sure that there isn't any other underlying cause for his seizures. Momma is now certified in CPR and Daddy is well on his way and it has been suggested that anyone who watches him know CPR as well.

Phoenix is doing well now and is happy to be home. The first day he was home he decided to give us all a present and take his first steps! Every day he takes a few more and is well on his way to walking soon. We feel so blessed to have him here with us and we are so thankful for the stranger angel who performed CPR. Winter Already???

It seems like fall is going to

be short lived... it started snowing in the mountains yesterday and it is expected to touch down in the valley on Monday or Tuesday. Luckily we got to spend some time outside in the new yard before the weather got too cold! The boys love being outside playing in the trees and the dirt. We have already stocked up on

their winter clothing and we are looking

forward to sledding season!...

This week we are going to be celebrating Halloween in American Fork and Spanish Fork and we're sure the boys are going to have enough candy for the next year or two! We are also going to the Elks Lodge Halloween Party with Memah Tammy and Papoose! It's an exciting tradition and Drake loves the costume parade :)

Tiffy is studying hard for her first mid-term coming up this week and is at the top of her class right now and is really loving school. She is planning on taking up sewing quilts this winter so if you want to help her get some practice in let her know and she'll make you one.

Jed is getting his first hair cut (in who knows how long) this Tuesday. There hasn't been a professional hair stylist near his head with scissors in over 6 years and he is a bit nervous. Our sister Mandy is the lucky stylist who gets to do the honors :)

Our little family is starting to settle into our new home nicely. Spanish Fork drivers are a bit tempermental and scary, but besides that it is a wonderful town with a

good old fashion feel to it.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

Drake is going to start potty training tomorrow!

The little guy was doing really well at the old house, but was having a hard time with the move and just refused to potty train. Today he told us he is ready to "wears no more diapers" and we got him a potty chart and some stickers to help him see his progress. Our little man is growing up so fast!

CH-CH-CHANGES!

So much has happened with our little family in the last 6 months. The boys are growing up so fast...

Drake loves everything to do with dinosaurs, tools, baseball, and pretty much anything else he sees. His newest obsession is his lucky golf ball and carries it everywhere he goes (along with his cow "blanky") and can not sleep without it. He recently decided that he wants to go to work with his Daddy, and very adamantly exclaims that it's time for him to work even when we tell him he isn't quite old enough. Drake is a very head strong little fellow and makes sure everyone knows it. haha!

Phoenix is the sweetest little guy you'll ever meet. He has reddish brown hair, gray eyes and big buck teeth. Drake lovingly calls his little brother "Mr. Fat Kid" and Phoenix calls him DraDra. Phoenix LOVES food! The kid will eat anything you put in front of him and loudly exclaims MMM... AHH... with every bite. He really loves bath time and wrestling with Daddy and Drake. He isn't quite walking yet, but he is a speedy little crawler and can move around the furniture pretty fast.

Papa Bear & Mama Bear are doing very well. Jed is a hard worker and really enjoys being a locksmith and Tiffy has recently gone back to school to get a degree in business. We just celebrated our 4 year anniversary in August and couldn't be more in love. Life gets a little crazy sometimes, but we are happy and content.

We also recently relocated 30 min south to Spanish Fork and we are settling in happily to our new home. It is going to take a little getting used to being so far away from family, but Neil and Mandy live a few blocks away so we will still have people close by. We are hoping that the move will give us a little change of pace and help Tiffy recover from all of her medical issues and live as stress free as possible.

(On a side note: Thank you to everyone for all of the love and support you have shown us these last few months... It was a very difficult time for us and the support we had was amazing and helped us get through each day. We Love You)
